I'm trying to type as fast as i can cause i dun wanna waste time. I actually turned off my com before this and decided to type this entry only tomorrow but its just too good to wait and delay.
OK lets just jump to the important bits. The CEO of Microsoft came to our school for a one hour visit. Steve Ballmer. Big person....both in size and position. but before that dorcas and I went to photocopy some stuff. The librarian was having a lunch break and so the library was closed. Then some of our classmates suggest using the general office. So we thought they had experienced it b4 and so we tried it out. Here's what happened.
Us: can we photocopy something?
teachers: Photocopy? Since when??
us: [paiseh] uh [look at each other]
teachers: How can go general office one? First time hear this. Cannot.
Us: [Even more embarrasssed] ...
teachers [saw my pants] sec 4 also don't know. go library.
Us: [still being emabarassed] oh ok
[we walked out]
Teachers: [background conversation] Wa they come general office. Must be so despo!!
Ok embarrassing situation, who was the one who said can go general office??? But thats not the main focus of today.
We had to go to the living labs early to get ready and we did the same worksheets and pretend to talk to newton. pretty much to put up a show. We weren't really excited or nervous cause we don't really know him that well. Not like Taylor Swift or Selena gomez or jordin sparks. So we remained pretty calm.
The gong went off and Mr ballmer entered the room. We gave a rather weak greeting. and he sat down next to jeremy. Wow. He's really friendly, cheerful, confident and he likes to interact with us.
A lady sat next to me and said hi. She one of the people from microsoft. She's extremely kind and friendly. Very enthusiastic, i guess the most friendly female person i met. She introduced herself to me (her name is stefanie i think, sorry abit nervous) then she was like smiling all the way.
So huijie and I intoduced her the software and she's so enthusiastic! She's like 'wow' and 'haha'. She very amused and entertained by the software. I dunno why but her happiness made huijie and i very happy also. She so nice and polite,must really learn from her :D
Then another lady sat next to me, a journalist. She's looks very serious. At first i didn't bother her but later i tried to be friendly to her and interduce the software. but she wasn't really that interested in it. More focused on the CEO.
She asked ma a few qns though. Like how many people are there in the class and who is junhao, which i gave her such a nonsensical and wierd reply
I was like 'Junhao is our...[panick] CLASSCHAIRPERSON.'
That split second i regretted cause Junhao not our class chairperson and that has nothing to do with what were doing.
The i tried to save myself 'he the student incharge'
that second i doubted myself...is he?
Then i try to say something the i'm really sure of to her.
'He is the one thats gonna give the token of appeciation to mr ballmer.'
At least that much better. I think
Anyway Mr ballmer seemed really impressed with the software. He was like 'HA' and 'Wow' he kept interacting with us with his words and he's really cheerful and funny.
Then it was question time. The cheerful lady was like 'C'mon ask a question!!! Its a one in a lifetime opportunity!!!' Wow. She gave me this motivation. So happy. Mr ballmer answered out questions really interestingly. they're long asnwers and
are really interesting to hear. Also somewhat inspirational.
before mr ballmer left we were like so enthu and suddenly became fans of his. We pleaded for him to take a picture with us and mr lim also encouraged that. So we took a group photo. Hope its uploaded on facebook.
After that, we're like super big fans and rushed to the 3rd storey terrace to wave goodbye to VIP. We're like some despo people but its 4R1 in nature....had fun!!!
